AC/DC Ready to Get Back in Black

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

AC/DC will release their first studio album in eight years, Black Ice, via Columbia Records on October 20, and as expected, it will be a Wal-Mart exclusive. The new album from the legendary rock band features 15 new tracks produced by Brendan O’Brien and recorded at the Warehouse Studio in Vancouver, BC. The first single, “Rock N’ Roll Train,” will debut on August 28 and the video will premier in September. AC/DC will hit the road this October for their first world tour since 2001.

Earlier this year, bassist Cliff Williams told Spinner.com: “[When] the last tour ended in early ‘01, you’d see kids on their dads’ shoulders. And these kids were like 10, 12 years old. It will be tremendous to see that again. And it’s very cool – younger kids getting into older music.”

Much like The Eagles and Journey, AC/DC has opted to sell Black Ice exclusively at Wal-Mart and Sam’s Clubs stores for the price of $11.88. The album will also be sold online through acdc.com, walmart.com and samsclub.com.
